The movie travels through the 'slumdog' Jamal's life. He is a teen boy who knows the answer for all the questions in the tvshow 'Who wants to be a millionaire?'.
The fortnight of the last question the police arrest him and blame him for cheating.
In the meantime of the interrogation they go through the questions and Jamal tells his story from his lifeexperience, full of adventures, crimes, dramas and cheating as he and his brother try to survive after the death of their mother.
There are a main love yarn in the movie, as Jamal sais, Latika is his destiny. Dispite of this fact this is not just a simple romantic movie, its also a wellwritten drama.
The title 'Slumdog Millionaire' refers to the boy who comes from the slum of India and win the big cash in the tvshow 'Who wants to be a Millionaire?'.
The movie shows us India in its real existance with its dark and cruel side. We can follow the young orphans' life showing us how hard to survive alone a place like Mumbai and not only stay alive but stay honest.
The main actor is Jamal, the young orhpan from the slum. He is a honest, truehearted boy, who belives in his dreams.
His brother, Salim is the most complicated character in the movie. He turns to a thug and is not afraid to betray his younger brother but in the end he is the one who maintains the oppurtinity for Jamal for a happier life with his selfsacrifice.
Jamal's childhood love, Latika is the victim of the circumstances. She is an orphan, too, and as a girl she does not have too much chance for survive but prostitution. She loves Jamal, he is the only one who was ever good to her.
The movie follows these children's adventures until adulthood telling their life in the slum and how they try to survive it.
It's a brilliant tale that has effect on the openminded viewers' life as well. It teaches us that we all need to have dreams, believe in them and make all the effort to fulfill them.
